The blacklisting process is legislated. It is therefore important that, in partnership with the client , compliance with the legislative/regulatory requirements (National Credit Act) would entail:
- Before debtor is blacklisted at a credit bureau, the debtor will be informed in writing of the intention to negatively list them at a credit bureau;
- They are the given 20 working days to respond before submitting their name to the bureau for listing;
- The debtor will then be contacted to confirm the listing;
- Further to that, efforts to demand the outstanding debt will continue via sms, letters of demand, email, etc.
